THE PISTOL RANGE

The pistol range is an outdoor range. It is 30 yards deep with high berms on 3 sides. There are 8 shooting lanes. Covered and enclosed on 3 sides. A wood burning stove with wood is available on those's coldest of days making shooting in extreme weather comfortable. The range is also equip with night time high intensity lighting. Our ACTION ranges (located on the west end of the property) provides a place to shoot for Cowboy Action, IDPA and 3 Gun Defensive clubs as well as practice and maneuvers for the Florence Police Department, the State Police Department, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Forest Service, Tribal Police from Three Rivers Casino and other coastal law agencies.

PISTOL RANGE RULES - There is no range master so please use common sense!

1) NEVER point the mussel of your gun in the air or above the berms.

2) Use only paper targets.

3) Use pistol range target stands.

4) ALL bullets MUST impact the center or lower of the back berm. Do not skip bullets off the ground.

5) Pick up your brass and deposit into the brass collection box.

6) Metal spinning target are allowed BUT they must be placed on the berm near the bottom. These are meant for .22 caliber handguns or rifles only.

7) Be courteous to fellow shooters.

8) Always use the red safety lights when going down range.

9) Please clean up all your trash remove targets from backers, sweep floors for brass. Keep it clean for your fellow shooters.

10) .22 caliber rifles are allowed on the pistol range.

11) Wear eye and ear protection at all times.

Failure to follow the club rules may result in your membership being revolked.


PIstol Firing Line
The pistol range firing line has 8 shooting lanes with enough comfortable room between shooters for all of your gear.

NEVER place any types of bottles, cans, wood, clay birds, golf balls, food products or any hard targets on the ground as bullets will ricochet and leave the club grounds. If you are caught doing this your membership will be revoked.

Pistol Range Wood Stove
A wood stove and wood is provided by the club. Makes shooting on the coldest of days comfortable.

2012 Handgun Safety Class

   All classes are on Saturday and start at 9:00am in the clubhouse.

   January 28 - Completed
   February 25
   March 24
   April 28
   June 23
   July 28
   August 25
   September 22

   All classes are on Saturdays.
Please do not call the club about this class. You are required to go to the Florence Police Department to pick up your HANDGUN SAFETY application. Follow the instructions that comes with the packet for the class registration. You will be contacted by the instructor as to your class date and time.

The 10 Rules of Gun Safety

1. Always keep the gun pointed is a safe direction.

2. Always keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.

3. Always keep the gun unloaded until ready to use.

4. Be sure the gun is safe to operate.

5. Know how to use the gun safely.

6. Use only the correct ammunition for the gun.

7. Know the target and what is beyond.

8. Wear ear and eye protection.

9. Never use alcohol or drugs before or while shooting.

10. Store guns so the are not accessable to unauthorized persons.
